Whether you are writing a simple blog to share your ideas and thoughts with the readers or building your own empire and money online through niche blogs, the most important thing to do is to promote and establish yourself as a guest blogger with authority.
Putting yourself in front of the right audiences is something essential for a blogger to meet your target as a writer.
The problem that you have to consider as a writer is to find the right audience. You can join blogging communities such as Blog Interact, MyBlogGuest or Guest Post Exchange or approach blogs with good performance and ask for a spot for guest posting.
Now you have the potential to meet your audience and prospects. Now you have to think about one more thing – building your authority. Authority is important for a writer as it helps you to lead and influence your readers to accept your ideas, thoughts, suggestions and offers.
Be Yourself
This is the first thing that you have to do – be yourself. Some guest bloggers prefer to be anonymous or using pen name/pseudonym for writing purposes – it’s up to you. I tried using several nicknames when writing guest posts but in the end I found that the most suitable approach for me is using my real name – Nasrul Hanis. Be yourself means – you stick to one personality when writing guest posts thus the readers can know and recognize your articles no matter where they have been published. That is the foundation of building your authority.
Preparing The Right Mindset & Content
Let’s say you want to start writing guest posts on weight loss and targeting health, fitness or weight loss blog to publish your guest articles.. but you never touch the topic before! I guarantee you can’t produce a good article on that particular topic unless you do study and understand what you are going to write.
Prepare the right mindset and content for any content that you want to produce. Search, read and understand and I suggest you prepare a collection of articles that you want to publish. Good content helps you a lot in building your authority.
Meeting People with Authority
Same with the outside world, some people know other people from other people. In fact successful people are being known through the words of other people and the information to other people as well. My suggestion is to make meeting people with authority in the niche that you want to focus as a part of your strategy. People with authority are more influential than the normal readers/followers but this doesn’t mean that you have to ignore them.
Start to identify people/bloggers/freelances/experts with authority online or offline, create connection with them via joint ventures, mutual exchanges or assistance and it will be helpful in building your authority. Then start to produce content for this people and you are on the right track to build your authority.
Finding Sites with Authority
Sites with authority are sites which are consistently relevant to a specific niche and have good performances. Sites like these consistently produce excellent content and are highly respected in their niches. Content published on these sites are being displayed to readers and followers who have placed a great deal of trust and respect into those sites. Keep in mind that sites with authority are not necessarily owned by people with authority.
So what is your strategy? Make sure that your articles are being consistently published on those sites and people will start to know you! A good site with authority that I would like to suggest is Famous Bloggers. I’ve shared the real benefits that I got from writing on this site in the previous article – why you should write at Famous Bloggers?
Maintaining Your Quality
Yes, building authority directly relates with your quality. Quality, quality and quality. People or followers will start to left you once you put no effort in maintaining your quality. Stop putting whatever you want in your articles and guest posts but start to put what you should put – what the readers, visitors, followers and webmasters are looking for.

There are some great tips here, and I think so many bloggers overlook the potential that ongoing guest posting can do.
If you do not cement your authority whilst being seen to be associated with bigger names the whole time then you are wasting what influence you could potentially have.
Came over from Blokube btw, thanks for sharing it there
